You Envy. Me Jealousy.

Envy vs Jealousy
Reading synonyms I often wondered why the same thing has different names. Like
Joy and Glee, Sadness and Grief. Now that I observe more and more each day. I find the difference unfold naturally.

Jealousy hurts. Envy doesn't.
Jealously instills pain and anger. Envy instills desire, sometimes grief.
Jealously is insecurity. Envy is inferiority.

Envy presents as a burning sensation or a tingling, uneasy effect.
Benign envy gives a sensation of tingling. Malicious envy feels like a burn.

Jealousy is always malicious.

"He earns more than I do, why?"
"Wish I earned as much as him."

Jealousy hurts. Envy doesn't. Now know which one is which.

The Mirage Of A Mirror

Mirrors have been such an intriguing creation by humankind.

  • It empowers you when you lift up your clothes to feed yourself the beauty of your own body. It discourages you when you closely look at the acne that has cropped up unexpectedly on your face.

  • It makes you smirk when you watch your taut nerves peeking out of your muscular built. It catches you as you notice the first few strands of gray hair in the sideburns.

Mirrors deceive us into thinking we are the most beautiful, the most handsome, the curviest, most muscular, most decent, charismatic, cherubic, capable of being different. . . . . and unique.

Mirrors even make us feel vulnerable

We look at ourselves searching for our own objectionable features, unpleasant flab of fat and cellulite, undesirable marks on our body, the off-putting complexion of our skin, thin and slender frames, signs of aging—graying hair and wrinkles and bags under the eyes.

At a moment that reflects back a version of who we are—good, bad, ugly—all of us is captured by such a preposterous piece of brittle object.

                                                    The Mirror

A powerful and highly underrated masterpiece subjected to mere glances and quick thoughts.

  • The mirror is where an orator hides his fears.
  • It is where a dancer shuns her bad posture.
  • A baby derives joy watching themselves smile.
  • A model engulfs fear and emanates confidence watching her own stunning image.

An animal apes itself in a mirror, discovers the secret and moves on, but we humans remain transfixed by watching our own self in various avatars.

We come back, again and again, every morning, every visit to the bathroom, to the dressing table, to the salon—we come back to test ourselves for perfection and offer ourselves a piece of self admiration, at times, criticism.

We are as fragile as the object that creates a reflection of our selves

We aren’t really what we see in the mirror—we are much more at different times, doing different things. Beauty portrays in a good deed—giving, offering, taking, receiving, sacrificing—when we are unaware of our image.

By simply hanging on the wall, in a frame—mirrors take away the control from ourselves, giving us either frustration or satisfaction. Such is the power of this tool.

Is it really true that an inanimate object cause so much more than a stir?

Wake up and look at yourself. Penetrate into your own eyes and shush your caustic mind.

Don't blame the mirror.

Some days just be rain

Some days just be rain
Floods of emotions cannot be sustained
Droughts of desire drive insane
Some days just be rain

Drowned by dissappointments and pain
Breathing with effort, fluttering in vain
Forgone time that went and never came
The last words that got left self contained
And silence made those words get tamed
Some days just be rain

Drought beneath the layer of rot
Self strengthened to endure the rock
Stones cutting through the silent heart
Pick up thorns from bleeding parts
Dense black sorrow from the skull
That thought all good but did nothing well
Now regrets the deeds it allowed to dwell
Thus falling back in the ever deepening well

The drought did try but nothing was gained
What had dried won’t grow up again
The empty emotions, sucked out and sold
For prices made on blame bargains

All ships have sunk, the flood is on the gain
The drought has come, find a different terrain
If the story holds true, remains unstained
Fight for what is true, strive against the undulating bane
And hope that some days just be rain

Song of my Blood

The Blood in my Veins
Sings my Song to You
It gushes through Loud and Clear
That I am a Falling Liquid
And I am the Color of Pain and Despair
The Breaths that hold Inside me
Reverberate the tone of Sobs and a Tear
The Lungs that fill up
With the Air of Gloom
Call you but Whisper out just Air
The Electric Wiring in this Mind
Currents past the Thoughts Endured
The Hands shiver in Disparity
Thinking what went Wrong and Where
Knees that held the Strength of Soul
Now shake like a Weak Wobbly Pillar
While this Heart beats On and On
Until the Muscles get Tired and Tear

All That Is Me

Floating in the vacuum where there is not a sound
Letting all lose, nothing shall make me bound
I am my own master, I am the slave
I gather my angels, while I dig my own grave
The devil rocks beside me in the chair
While I laugh with vituperation, I stare
The angel sits next to my soul
I am born, every moment, I die as a whole
I release my breath, the wisps of air
I scoff at the time that runs in despair
I shoot the eagles that fly often too high
I bend and touch the ground, beneath which I will lie
I throw the diamonds, I melt the gold
I become my own as I manifold
I trance to the levels that I knew long ago
Layers beneath my skin follow the flow
I am but not, I am a serene spirit
Stiff in the moment yet I get a drift
Pushed by the seconds, the ticks of the clock
Sway as I stay ahead of the moron flock
Catch me if you may
If you dare to touch my fire
Smoke I am, uplifted by desire
Parted by ways and born with benign
Yet devil in my left eye and right without a vision
Shadows of the stars hollow their dust in me
Ah! Pixels of love I am and all that I will be

Let go Off

You Absorb your pieces of Ruins
Inside the Mud of your Memories
You pick up Obsolete Talks
And carry on your daily Deeds

You Smile and Smoke up the Tears
Wriggle and Shed your dreadful Fears
For once Look behind , what your own Shadow Hides
Dents in Bent Souls don't get washed by Time and Tides

Earn yourself from the Intimidating Pride
One that Wins with Facade and Fight
Reborn with the Light of Truth in your Eyes
And Swell yourself with Love, not Despise
Call out to the Pigeons of Peace
Listen to the Fugitive Emotions you Keep

Rub your Ribs and Clutch your Arm
Wait for your Heart to Brave and Respond
Lift off the Mask and Quench your Pain
While longing for Love, don't let it go in Vain

Strain your mind against the Greed of the World
Material is comfort as Money Manifolds
Though nothing will Fill the Jar of Desire
The More you Put,the lesser will seem Entire
So you Suffer albeit the Glass is Full
Asking where is the space to Refill
And You Fetch another One
Hence, it Starts from Where it had Begun

Contentment isn't synonym to 'NO'
Neither does it ask you to Forgo
Treasure the part that You already Bear
And Ruin it with Compassion and Care

Free yourself from the Bondage of Want
Free yourself from the Ties that Knot
Free yourself from the Tears you Hide
Let go Off the inside Fight
Let go Off the Fake Side
Let go..

And Remember: Don't Forget To Smile

Hate

I have tried calming myself down when I see a person whom I hate or get irritated with. I, more often associate this feeling of hatred with getting annoyed with people. Yes, there are valid reasons, if you ask me. For instance, our manager, who seems to be overly interested in approaching girls with utter sweetness, trying for unnecessary attention unless he wants to prove himself as a pervert, which I had heard he actually has and now, am completely sure of. Staring at a girl like a piece of sausage gets you those remarks and even asking her out for coffee, without realizing that you have a family.

I have tried making peace with my mind over this issue, who never gives up on releasing my stress and anger hormones when humans like these are around. It is easy to love, may be easier to hate. Perceptions can be deceiving I agree but experiences don’t lie about the fact.

Sometimes even my brother annoys me, to buy him gadgets, I get irritated but I don’t hate him. Of course he is my brother and thus he has the right to ask for things, for which I have equal rights to deny. Thus this criterion seems valid to be devoid of even the mention of the word hate.
Hate seeds in the mind of beholder when people know they are doing wrong and deny acknowledging their deeds. Hate is invited when someone keeps their crime a secret. Hate is subjective and relative in all terms.

When it comes to those levels that our control goes beyond our comprehension and thoughts, we forget how to forgive. What to do in that stage, I have no clue about, because seeing things happen in horrendous ways doesn’t let one forgive. It is definitely not easy to forgive and leave the reigns of hatred, when bad and annoying things still continue.

This in turn sticks to our brains like cobweb do, and as they pull a trigger on their part, it brings a surge of uncontrolled hatred at my end or anybody’s for that matter.

How to deal with it?  How to forgive? How to forget?

She never looked back

The wedding gown burned
As she walked down the aisle
The ring in her finger
She never looked back
The wedding gown dragged
And picked up the dirt
The tulips left her hands
She never looked back
The goblet of wine
Wobbled at the table
The window flaps sealed
And the light turned black
The candles raged flames
The wax dripped on skin
But the bishop read versus
And she never looked back
The kiss was perfect
Yet wounds popped
Brought poisoned slow death
Still She never looked back
The lie felt like truth
Thus became a habit with time
And so until she rested
She never looked back

People-Love-People

People. How they think love is so difficult, that love is not their cup of tea,
that love is that they will never bring themselves to. How they never unerstood that they were changed,
when they fell in love, that they were transformed into a better human being, that they were living each
day with even more zest. How they thought that falling always hurts.

People. They can lie to the world but not their hearts, that are always ready to endure the tough terrains, the crests
and troughs of this journey, that are willing to sacrifice for somebody other than self, that believes truly,
trusts deeply and cares selflessly.

People. They need love, they dont want it. They need the gentle touch of care, they need the assuring words of love,
they need the patient ears in silence. They need someone close with whom they can open up, against the canvas that they paint for world
to watch everyday. They want to give up, in front of someone, where they can lay with their open chests and dry scars, where they can
reveal the dark shadows that scares them, where they can fearlessly dance under the innocence, that usually hides within them.

People. They are far too soft inside, but they don't show. They can take risk, with many hearts, they can even take revenge on them.
But for that one heart, they give up their weapons and lay bare, lay weak, lay in their perfect selves.

People. They are slaves, of their own selves.

The Saint, Sane and capricious Insane

Why you get attached so much to someone. Heart you bugger! You beg for love, don't you?

Doesn't matter if it comes on self, you let your ego slip, you let your respect go in smoke.
You take it all in, you love the hit but it is only for a matter of minutes and then its gone and you now it, pretty well indeed.

Soul! You are mature, but you don't say a word. You murmur, that is why no wonder,
seldom we listen.

Streaming water, can it be stopped?

O heart!, Stop making excuses to the limit of harm to yourself. You are no phoenix to rise every time you are ashed.

Mind, Please deal with it, put a collar, tie the heart to a pole.

No! Because you see the heart will fall in love with the pole too.

Oh sweetheart, the glowing bug of the night, don't flutter away. The world will cut your wings.

Behold this is heart, I break and bleed but still I beat.

Wavelengths

And what shall I tell you about me,
I am this little girl, born in a small town
Grown under the shades of love so profound
Like any girl, pampered with dolls and dresses
And houses made of planks and plastics
With stomach that filled with taste and sleep that lapped in comforts

And what shall I tell you about me,
Seeing the sunrise facing the dawn
Departing from home in school uniform
Reading and writing and grabbing the lessons
                     Budding and building my self-esteem
Looking at future weaving my dreams

And what shall I tell you about me,
Seeking out a hand that holds on tight
A tender comfort in gasping and fright
A flight of freedom taking after all
Through success and failures after seeing the falls
That is when tendrils I leave and stand on my feet

And what shall I tell you about me,
I have seen the world, ruminated a lot
What made me grow should have been my God
I am not imperfect rather I can’t be
Hence I try to aid and heed

I know that the lessons have been passed on,
And I am naive to understand all
Yet I am what I can be
My true self for the past and the yet to foresee
